Any trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia won’t be complete without a visit to the Petronas Towers. I have to admit, I am not really excited about visiting a tower that’s been overly exposed in postcards and pictures everywhere. I haven’t even think about the Petronas Towers. At that moment, all I know is that I’m shopping in Suria KLCC mall. My friends went gaga over the MAC store there and we bought lots of pasalubongs. I am pretty content already. I’ve got my Oldtown Milktea with me. It’s getting a little late na rin tapos parang ang sarap na mamahinga sa hotel. But then we went out the Suria KLCC and I saw this huge water fountain.
Lights and sounds outside Suria KLCC
I was in awe! I just want to sit there and watch the fountain for an hour. Such a relaxing sight! There’s not a lot of people, so it’s perfect. May mga tao pa rin naman pero hindi sya MOA by the Bay level na dami ng tao. So beautiful! I am actually enjoying a water fountain in Kuala Lumpur. Of all the places that’s new to me, I am enjoying something as familiar as a water fountain. Ganyan po kababaw kaligayahan ko. So I was just feeling the moment, when the cousin of my friend (she works and lives in Kuala Lumpur and acts as our tour guide that day) tapped my shoulder and pointed at the opposite direction. Then I saw this…
View of Petronas Towers from Suria KLCC. My first time seeing it.
OMG. What is that? Okay, I take back whatever I said about it before, but the Petronas Towers is not something I normally see in Makati. I live in Makati and I swear I can go around that city 10x and not see something as tall and mesmerizing as these twin towers I’m looking at right now. I know how the towers look like in postcards and pictures, but man, I’m telling you, those postcards and pictures ain’t giving this beautiful structure justice! I am not expecting it to be this beautiful. The lights make it more grand and extraordinary. I love it.
Twin Wonders, Twin Towers
Petronas Towers
The Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur used to be the tallest building in the world. Now it’s the tallest twin structure in the world with 88 floors! I wonder how long will it take to ride the elevator from the ground floor to the top? The towers are currently used as an office for different multinational companies. Parang ang sarap magwork dito. Everyday ganda ng view mo pagpasok. Just beside the Petronas Towers is the KLCC Park, where you will see the giant fountain I saw. Other things of interest in this beautiful tourist attraction are the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center, the Petronas Art Gallery and yes, the Suria KLCC mall.
But you know what I would have loved? Going up to the 86th floor into the towers’ observation deck. I would have loved to get up close to that spire and the lights and have a good view of the city from its tallest structure. I also would love to cross the Sky Bridge. I’m not really scared of heights, so this would have been fun! But we were told it’s expensive and might have already closed since it’s late. But the towers are amazing nonetheless. It’s just that I would have also enjoyed a bird’s eye view.
As close as I can get
We went to the other side from the KLCC Park to get a better view of the Petronas Tower. There’s a lot of people trying to take pictures. Syempre hindi kami papatalo dyan. But the building is too big, it’s hard to get a full picture of it. Hmmm, what do we do? And here are some of the results.
Two thumbs up for this amazing structure

So for those of you who are like me and are skeptical about visiting the Petronas Towers, give it a shot. You will be a believer of the beauty of human creation. Make your postcard a reality. 🙂
